It gives temporary assistance until the victim receives competent medical care, or until the chance for recovery without medical care is assured. Most injuries and illnesses do not require medical care. Properly applied first aid or CPR may mean the difference between life and death, a rapid recovery, long hospitalizations, temporary disability, or permanent injury. The need for safety trainingIt is better to know first aid and CPR and not need it, than to need it and not know it. Everyone should be able to perform first aid and CPR. Most people will eventually find themselves in a situation requiring it, either for another person or for themselves. A delay of a little as a few minutes when a person's heart stops can mean the difference between life and death. Even though most injuries do not require these life-saving efforts, be prepared. During their entire lifetime, most people will see only one or two situations involving life-threatening conditions. While saving lives is important, knowing what to do for less severe injuries demands greater attention. Our CPR and first aid classes addresses all these needs.Areas we provide classesAlthough this is not an exclusive list of the cities we cover, the primary areas in which we teach are Allston, Arlington, Boston, Brighton, Brookline, Cambridge, Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Newton, Peabody, Reading, Revere, Saugus, Somerville, Woburn.Bettina Small in the newsIf you're thinking about baby-sitting or lifeguarding this summer, it's a good idea to invest in some CPR or first aid classes.
